Cheddar Cheese Puffs w/ garlic & oregano

I stumbled upon this recipe while searching for a simple appetiser recipe to make for a friend's Christmas party. Quick and easy! I didn't even need to go shopping for the ingredients.

Ingredients:

1 cup water
4 tbs butter
1 cup flour (all purpose)
4 eggs
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
1 tsp salt
Ground pepper
Masterfoods garlic powder
Masterfoods oregano herb

Add water, butter and salt into a saucepan, bring to boil.

Reduce the heat, add flour and continue to stir, using a wooden spoon, until the dough becomes thick.
Set aside for 5 minutes to cool down. (The dough needs to be warm/cool so the eggs do not cook once you add them into the mixture)

Add the eggs (one at a time) stirring constantly until the dough mix softens and becomes creamy.

Add the grated cheddar cheese, pepper, garlic powder and oregano herbs.

Preheat oven to 180 degrees. Place small spoonfuls of mixture into a baking tray and cook for approximately 20-30 minutes.

To make plain cheddar cheese puffs: exclude garlic powder and oregano

My Lovely Thai -- Pad Kee Mao

So I've been meaning to post this a while ago. It's a recipe that I have been trying to perfect for the past few months now. My friend's mum owns a Thai restaurant so I managed to work out the ingredients for Pad Kee Mao by watching her cook.

1 x Carrot (thinly sliced)
1 x Brown onion (chopped)

3 tbs x Sweet soy sauce (ABC brand)
1 tsp x MSG (optional)
2 tbs x Oyster sauce

2. Stir the egg into the pan.

3. Add the green beans, carrots, and onions (bamboo shoots and capsicum are also optional)

4. Combine fish sauce, dark soy, sweet soy, MSG, Oyster sauce and sugar.

Making a simple dish look and taste good!

Yes ok, so its 8pm, skipped dinner and I got a little bit lazy.. but that doesnt mean I have to settle for random midnight snacks and wait until morning to get fed. A bowl of instant ramen noodles (you can buy them in boxes of 24 at the local asian grocery). I added a bit of fish sauce, lemon, and sugar into the soup (these ingredients are good for flavouring any chicken/beef flavoured soup). Add egg (half runny) chilli (fresh or flakes), lettuce and kimchi. You can also add meatballs and/or pork mince. What would normally cost about $10-15 at a fancy Japanese restaurant only cost me 50c and about10 minutes to make :)

Khao mun gai (Hainanese chicken with rice)

An awesome home-made dinner! Here's a link to the recipe for this dish for those who wish to attempt. Pretty simple :)

So for the 10354679th time that I've created blogs and deleted them, I have finally decided to settle... (it's been a while since I last posted anything). Anyways, my reason for 're-creating' this blog? I've been reading up on a lot of food blogs lately in search of nice places to eat-out, whether it be a casual dinner with friends or a fine-dined dinner. I came across numerous blogs which posted amazing photos of food&entertainment (eatertainment), those specifically aimed at sharing blogger's culinary experiences. I ended up with a never-ending list of places to try... I also noticed while searching online for food recipes, that there were very few bloggings on food&cooking...which is why I've decided to dedicate my posts on great eat-outs as well as home-cooking recipes for all the foodies out there :)
